  SEHNSA Sahansa is like a valley with Poonch river in the east, wide plain in the west, hills in the north and south. 2262 feet above sea level. It has a population of about 63,000. Sahansa has one town, five union councils and 71 constituencies. The largest union council in Sahansa is the Anti-Mangralan. The reason for the name Sahansa is that its name is derived from the ancestor of the Mangral tribe, Raja Sens Paul. Raja Sens Paul ruled the area for a long time. When Raja Sens Paul was invited to Islam in 1424 by the Prime Minister of Kashmir, he not only embraced Islam but also brought his subjects into the fold of Islam. Raja Sense Paul did not change his name at the insistence of the people even after his conversion to Islam. His subjects loved him dearly. When Raja Sans Paul encamped here, the area was ruled by the Mehtaras, after which he declared his rule here and made Sainla, west of the present Sahansa city, his capital. The area was later renamed Sahansa after him.

کوٹلی منگرالاں م ختلف محققین نے اس بارے میں اپنی آراء لکھی ہے۔ بعض کے نزدیک پہاڑوں کے دامن میں ایک وسیع میدان کی وجہ سے "کوہ تلی" نام تھا جو بگڑ کر "کوٹلی" بن گیا۔ دوسرے مئولف کی رائے میں کوٹلی کے منگرال حکمران راجہ دیال خان کی وفات کے بعد اس کے فرزند راجہ شاہ سوار خان نے موضع دکھاری کے پہاڑ "ہالا کیری" کی ڈھلوان پر کوٹ آباد کیا۔ بعد میں علاقے کا نام بدل کر کوٹلی بن گیا۔ راجہ شاہ سوارخان کوٹلی کا آخری مسلمان حکمران تھا جس نے دو مرتبہ سکھوں کےحملے کا منہ توڑ جواب دیا۔ پہلی بار 1812ء میں جبکہ دوسری بار 1814ء میں رنجیت سنگھ سے معرکہ ہوا۔ راجہ شاہ سواار خان چونکہ منگرال قبیلے سے تعلق رکھتا تھا اس لیے اس کے خاندان کے لوگ کثیر تعداد میں یہاں آباد تھے۔ لوگ اپنے حکمران سے بہت خوش تھے اور اس کے ساتھ سیسہ پلائی دیوار کی طرح کھڑے تھے۔  راجہ شاہ سوار خان کی کوئی نرینہ اولاد نہ تھِی۔ وہ اپنی رعایا سے بہت پیار کرتا تھا۔ سنہ 1816ء میں سکھوں نے تیسرا اور فیصلہ کن حملہ کوٹلی منگرالاں پر کیا۔ وہ جدید اسلحہ سے لیس تھے اور ان کے پاس کمک بھی زیادہ تھی۔ میں سکھوں نے تیسرا اور

  MANGRAL RAJPOOT Rajput dynasties ruled different regions from time to time. When the people of the same Rajput dynasty ruled in different places, they started a new tribe to keep their name alive for generations to come, which became the identity of this tribe or family in the coming era. The Rajput family has about 3684 major branches. While the number of their goths is about six thousand. Of the ruling families, Raja Amna Pal ruled over Rajouri from 1172 to 1217. He had six sons, after whom six new goths of the Rajput family were established. Raja Amna Pal's eldest son was named Raja "Man Pal" after whom the "Manial Rajput" tribe originated. The youngest son from Manpal was named Mangar Pal, whose descendants were called Mangral. The third son, Raja Buddh Pal's descendant, was called "Pal Thakkar".
