MANGRAL RAJPOOT BOOK PART 12

RAJA SEHNS PAL

Raja Sens Paul is the ancestor of the Mangral tribe in Kotli district. He established his government in the Sahansa area by annihilating the Mehattaras. Later, at the invitation of Malik Masood, the Prime Minister of Kashmir, he not only converted to Islam but also preached Islam well. Raja Sens Paul's tomb is in Sainla. After the death of Raja Sens Paul, the town was named "Sahansa" after him.

Raja Sens Paul is the ancestor of the Mangral tribe in and around Kotli district. Raja Sens Paul is the fifth descendant of Raja Mangarpal [after whom the Mangral tribe is named]. History is silent about the birth and early life of Raja Sens Paul, but a few stories are still circulating. There is a famous saying that he came here from Jammu via Sialkot. He also had some family members with you who we can say may be from his grandfather's children. When he came to the southwestern mountain of the Sahansa valley, "Trana", his encampment was at a high area. The city of Sahansa was not inhabited then. Here was the rule of the Mehtaras. The Mehtaras asked Raja Sens Paul for their daughter to marry. Raja Sens Paul told him that I will agree with the proposal and all of you will come to the invitation, I will decide there and you will also be given the answer. But the condition is that no one from your tribe will be absent from this invitation. Only one woman who was pregnant could not attend the party. King Sens Paul burned them all down and established his kingdom.

In 1424, Malik Masood, the Prime Minister of Kashmir, preached Islam throughout the state. Malik Masood would invite small governments or princes to Islam, and those who converted to Islam would be rewarded by the government as well. Anyone who refused was mobilized. Raja Sens Paul converted to Islam at the invitation of Malik Masood. He kept his Islamic name Sense Paul because people loved him so much and people insisted that he don't change his name. Along with he, the entire population also converted to Islam. Thus we can say that Raja Sens Paul was the first person to convert to Islam and spread Islam in Sahansa area.

After accepting Islam and establishing a government, he chose Sainla as the headquarters of his government. He delivered justice to the people. He ruled the hearts of the people. After his death, the area was named "Sahnsa" because of their love and devotion to him. It was named at the end of the fourteenth century.

After his death, he was buried in Sainla Cemetery. His tomb is on the right side of Baba Mastan Shah's court while on the left side are two tombs of his wives. Raja Sens Paul had four sons. The eldest son was Raja Dan Khan, the second son was Raja Tatar Khan, while the third son was Raja Mehtadan Khan who was childless and the fourth son was Raja Rahim Khan.

Some traces of Raja Sens Paul's reign can still be seen in Sainla, including a tilak stone. On which the princes were inoculated with vermilion. There is also a deep well and its water was given to sailors and pilgrims. The seating area under the banyan trees is still visible today.

Raja Muhammad Sharif Advocate had written some writing on the tilak stone which has now been erased. Now in Sainla only Raja Muhammad Khan Advocate, Subedar Raja Muhammad Anwar Khan [son of Raja Major Abrar Khan] besides a few houses of his brother reflect the greatness of the Mangral tribe. After researching the tomb of Raja Sens Paul, who had been buried in Sainla for centuries, Writer did research and then together with Raja Zahoor Karamat and Raja Waqar Ali Akhtar built and laid the tomb.
